Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen
ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) is Germany’s national public television broadcaster. It is run as an independent non-profit corporation under the authority of the sixteen states forming the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition to a central location in Mainz, it has 16 regional and 18 foreign studios.
With the help of a Signiant system, ZDF connects their foreign studios, for example, in Washington, USA., as well as local studios in Germany to the main central location in Mainz. The size of the installation consists of 4 Signiant Managers and around 44 Agents, moving about 1 Petabyte a year.
We also help to integrate the ZDF umbrella system–ESB VIO. We are connecting Aspera users with Signiant for receiving files from the users of the Internet. They use Signiant as a backend after receiving a file in order move the file to the correct location.
This ongoing project started in 2013.
